Is Manchester United Catholic or Protestant?

Does it matter?

Well, apparently, the manager that built Manchester United, Sir Matt Busby, was a really devout Catholic. He would get priests to meet the team before games, he would stop his activity when any bishops would come to the club and he was also seen kissing their rings.

The reason for the question appeared, probably, when George Best wanted to play for the team. Since he was protestant, people told him that Manchester United, run by a devout Catholic, would never let him play for them.

Well, history said differently. Sir Matt Busby saw the talent George best had and decided to give him a chance. And his move was correct: George Best became one of the best (if not THE best) player in the team history.

It doesn’t really matter, as long as they play the football we were used to watch during Sir Alex Ferguson’s era.
